Victim ID'd In Weekend District Heights Shooting: Police

Prince George's Police have identified the victim of a shooting that took place in District Heights over the weekend, the department said.

Donte Morton, 28, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a parking lot in the 8500 block of Ashwood Drive at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 20, police said. He was pronounced dead at the at a local hospital shortly after. 

Another adult male also sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the shooting, police added.

Initial investigation revealed the suspect and the victims both fired guns during the altercation, police said. Investigators who identified all those involved and are working to examine evidence, police added.
